This is the last time I'll ever see you at an airshow.

Now, go enjoy retirement. :)

Unfortunately plane retirement isn't that much fun...too bad..thats one good looking plane...

They're retiring those already? Wow.. when I think how long some planes like the B52 and the C47 were used, these hardly seem to have any time at all

True - but remember, these are pretty old airframes, and unlike the BUFF, Nighthawks are pretty limited in the ability to extend their airframe life expectancy since they're so complex. More importantly, they're very limited in being adapted for different roles

Hey, why are they retiring the F-117? It's still a high tech plane.

Relatively speaking, yes, but the airframes of these aircraft are starting to wear down, and since they're so complex (and specially built - no two Nighthawks are exactly alike) they'd be hugely expensive to refit - and since the F-117 has fairly limited capabilities, such a refit wouldn't be worth the expense. So, better to put them in storage in case they're needed, and concentrate on the new multi-role stealth platforms like the F-22 and F-35 (or whatever they might happen to be testing in certain parts of the Nevada desert. ;) )

If War Dog knew War Dog, would War Dog really
be War Dog or just a factor of War Dog's imagination?

It is kind of sad but also you have to think about the plane, it is about 30 years old (well, only 27), while the F-14D was not but 14. Also it couldn't fly without the fly-by-wire system, and it had a limited payload, now we have B-2s, F-22s, and F-35s that can do so much more.
