Description
This medium tank was used by the Japanese Empire from the mid 1930s to 1943, first seeing action in the 1932 Shanghai invasion of China. As were most Japanese armored vehicles, it was significantly underarmored to be truly considered a "medium tank," and in the few rare instances of tank to tank combat in the Pacific theater it would always be outmatched by Allied Shermans.
